BJP International Photography Award

The British Journal of Photography promotes the BJP International Photography Award, an award dedicated to young contemporary photographers. Through the open call, photographers of all ages and backgrounds are invited to present a body of work, inherent in any subject, which will be selected by an international jury of the sector.

The winner will receive his personal exhibition at the TJ Boulting gallery, a renowned contemporary art gallery based in Fitzrovia, London; up to £ 5,000 of subsidy for the production of the exhibition, a 4-page listing within the British Journal of Photography and a portfolio reading of a BJP publisher.

The jury of the BJP IPA 2019 is composed of experts from a wide range of professional sectors, including: Russ O’Connell, Picture Editor, Sunday Times Magazine; Renée Mussai, Senior curator, Autograph ABP; Johanna Neurath, Design Director, Thames & Hudson; Simon Bainbridge, Editorial Director, British Journal of Photography; Sarah Allen, Assistant Curator, Tate Modern and Hannah Watson, Director, TJ Boulting.
Active for over a decade, the IPA BJP has been instrumental in launching the careers of some of the most respected contemporary photographers. Through this recognition, the winning photographers and finalists have gained visibility in the sector and the opportunity to be recognized by the international photographic community.
