From 5 to 8 February 2026, Bologna becomes a crossroads of experiences and exchange in the field of contemporary art with ART CITY, the city-wide program held alongside Arte Fiera at BolognaFiere, made possible through the collaboration between the exhibition centre and the Municipality of Bologna, promoter of the initiative.
Under the artistic direction of Lorenzo Balbi, the program unfolds across the entire urban fabric with a rich and cross-disciplinary calendar: exhibitions, performances, talks, installations, and music events animate museums, historic buildings, libraries, theatres, and independent spaces, offering the public the opportunity to engage closely with leading figures of the international art scene.
At the conceptual core of this edition is the Special Program Il corpo della lingua (the body of language), conceived by Caterina Molteni, which explores the relationship between words, physicality, and processes of knowledge. Through site-specific interventions created for unconventional contexts, the project weaves together embodiment, memory, and learning practices, bringing art into everyday and unexpected spaces.
