Artifact is a project devoted to contemporary art  – promoted by Metronom Cultural Association with the collaboration of Francesco Pozzi & Soci and the Municipality of Castelvetro in Modena, with the patronage of the Municipality of Modena and Rotary Club Castelvetro in Modena – that is constituted by an exhibition and a prize.

The exhibition by the shortlisted artists, selected by the committee, opens on Thursday 19th April 2018, in the historical rooms of Castello di Levizzano, in Castelvetro di Modena.

On the occasion of the opening, the names of the three winners of ARTIFACT PRIZE 2018 were announced. The third prize was assigned ex-aequo to Valentina d’Accardi with the video installation Inconscio Idraulico (2018) and to Claudia Sinigaglia with the series of drawings Untitled (2017). The second prize was assigned to Daniele Marzorati, with the photographic installation As the Crow Flies (2017). The first prize was assigned to Massimiliano Gatti with the photographic installation Aleppo è una foglia di alloro (2018).

For the shortlisted projects will be realized a catalogue with critic text alongside the images of the works, to be presented in September 2018 in Modena during festivalfilosofia.

The shortlisted artists for ARTIFACT PRIZE 2018 are Francesco Amato, Elena Arzuffi, Elena Ascari, Claudio Beorchia, Gianluca Brando, Francesco Cardarelli, Valentina d’Accardi, Gennifer Deri, Andrea Fenoglio, Massimiliano Gatti, Domenico Laterza, Reinis Lismanis, Daniele Marzorati, Enrico Moretti, Alice Padovani, Matteo Pasin, Marina Rosso, Claudia Sinigaglia, Jacopo Valentini, Olivia Malena Vidal.
