The exhibition Dante nei libri d’artista (Dante in Artists’ Books), hosted in the Salone Borromini of the Biblioteca Vallicelliana in Rome and curated by Stefania Severi, presents a selection of 30 artists’ books inspired by Dante Alighieri and his works. The exhibited pieces are diverse in form, ranging from traditional volumes to scrolls.
The exhibition weaves together historical and cultural tradition with contemporary artistic practices, not only conceptually but also materially, by placing artists’ books alongside selected Dante texts from the library’s collection.
Among the featured artists are Antonella Cappuccio, Capri Otti, Cristina Crespo, Vittorio Fava, Lucia Pagliuca, and Teresa Pollidori, who reinterpret the legacy of the Supreme Poet through a variety of techniques and media, from watercolor painting to collage and digital imagery.
