EVELYN TAOCHENG WANG. SWEET LANDSCAPE | MUSEION, BOZEN

Museion presents the solo exhibition of Evelyn Taocheng Wang, Sweet Landscape, bringing together a series of new artworks inspired in part by the city hosting the show. The artist’s practice spans multiple media — including painting, sculpture, and installation — to develop a visual language that reflects on contemporary social and cultural themes.
By intertwining personal experience, collective imagination, and references to the tradition of art history, Wang creates works of a poetic nature, in which irony becomes a key device for conveying meaning.
As the exhibition title suggests, the artist draws inspiration from both physical and cultural landscapes. A significant and direct reference to the city of Bolzano is Piazza delle Erbe, where Wang observed the lively and colorful fruit and vegetable stalls. Inspired by this setting, she creates works that evoke a typical and culturally rooted urban context, reinterpreted through a personal and ironic lens, shaped by wordplay and metaphors that invite viewers to engage in an open and layered reading.
