FUTURAMA is the third and final exhibition in the MAN’s trilogy exploring the ways in which human beings engage with reality, the environment, and time. While SENSORAMA investigated the perceptual world and DIORAMA explored new post-natural ecologies and the relationship between humans and non-humans, FUTURAMA turns instead to the imagination of the future as a cultural, political, and emotional device.

The exhibition is curated by Chiara Gatti and Elisabetta Masala in collaboration with Storyville. The title takes takes inspiration from the celebrated Futurama exhibition organized by General Motors at the 1939 New York World’s Fair, seeking to evoke that sense of confidence and hope in progress, when technology was not yet perceived as a threat, but as a promise. At the same time, the cracks in this vision begin to emerge: what once fueled modernist optimism has become a driving force behind new forms of inequality, alienation, and ecological fragility. Featuring artists such as Vincenzo Agnetti, Sergio Lombardo, Gianni Colombo, and many others, FUTURAMA creates a space for shared reflection, inviting us to reactivate the possibility of imagining plural, desirable, and conscious futures.
