OFRENDA, CELINA ECEIZA | HALLE FUR KUNST STEIERMARK, GRAZ

The HALLE FÜR KUNST Steiermark museum in Graz, Austria, is hosting the large-scale exhibition Ofrenda, dedicated to Argentine artist Celina Eceiza, until 18 January 2026. The exhibition, organized in collaboration with the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires and curated by Sandro Droschl together with Agustina Vizcarra, radically transforms the space in which it is installed, reshaping the viewer’s experience through a highly immersive visual intervention.
Inside the galleries, Eceiza’s works—textile collages, drawings, soft sculptures, and paintings—expand beyond the traditional limits of canvas or object, covering walls, ceilings, and floors. The result is an environment entirely wrapped in colorful surfaces and assembled materials that seem to make the architecture “breathe,” rendering it mobile, pulsating, almost alive.
The artist approaches the theme of the body not only from an iconographic or formal viewpoint but also as a spatial and experiential concept. The body thus becomes a metaphor for rethinking how we inhabit and navigate spaces: the exhibition area is no longer a neutral container but a sensitive organism, capable of welcoming, transforming, and responding to the presence of visitors.
