Starting Saturday, October 4, until October 10, 2025, the twenty-first edition of the Giornata del Contemporaneo (Contemporary Art Day) kicks off, the annual event organized by AMACI with the support of the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Italian Ministry of Culture. On this occasion, the 26 AMACI member museums and around a thousand public and private institutions across Italy will offer free admission and a special program designed to bring contemporary art closer to an ever-wider audience.
As in recent years, the initiative will also have an international scope: through the project Giornata del Contemporaneo | Italian Contemporary Art, Italy’s diplomatic and consular network will promote contemporary Italian art worldwide.
The theme of this year’s edition is education and learning, understood broadly as education, research, and the sharing of knowledge.
