Their images, always\u00a0perfect, are the fruit of a unique creation, of a lively intelligence,\u00a0capable of planning and realising an elaborate\u00a0and captivating story for every photograph, just\u00a0as in every photogram for a film: portraits that are a\u00a0meeting point between pure advertising and pop art.\u00a0Christto &amp; Andrew\u2019s style is recognisable at a\u00a0fleeting glance. Irony, glamour and iconography are\u00a0blended in works often considered transgressive due\u00a0to the subtle balance between paradox and reality.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Christto &amp; Andrew\u2019s \u2018scene\u2019 is the private dimension,\u00a0the models in their series evoke an estranged dimension\u00a0which creates a perturbing absence; a quantity\u00a0of mute questions crowd the spectator\u2019s mind, their\u00a0subjects refer directly to media stereotypes of excesses:\u00a0glamour poses, great attention paid to \u2018accessories\u2019,\u00a0glances and atmospheres often inspired\u00a0by a cinematographic imagination in which the protagonists\u00a0of their creations are made to move. The\u00a0works are striking for the strong colours, they arouse\u00a0our curiosity with the choice of subjects, sometimes\u00a0raise questions about the apparent neutrality of situations\u00a0in which the two photographers do no other\u00a0than show their surreal point of view, coloured and\u00a0ironic\u2026 it is down to the spectator to decide whether\u00a0or not to enter this world.\u00a0The subjects chosen by Christto &amp; Andrew represent\u00a0fictional characters who appear to be \u2018dressed\u00a0up\u2019 with clothes and accessories that give the models\u00a0a surreal aspect, with exaggerated colours and\u00a0ambiguous mises-en-sc\u00e8ne that amplify the estranging\u00a0effect.
