{"id":4316,"date":"2019-06-12T10:32:38","date_gmt":"2019-06-12T08:32:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.generazionecritica.it\/GC\/en\/?p=4316"},"modified":"2019-06-18T14:22:39","modified_gmt":"2019-06-18T12:22:39","slug":"flacc-open-call","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.generazionecritica.it\/en\/news-en\/flacc-open-call\/","title":{"rendered":"FLACC | OPEN CALL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>FLACC<\/em>, an organization and workplace\u00a0for artists\u00a0located in <em>Genk, Belgium<\/em>, promotes an open\u00a0call for visual artists for the realization of unique artistic projects.\u00a0The call\u00a0selects a maximum of 10-12\u00a0artists \u2013 from Belgium and abroad, young and experienced \u2013 to set up a new project during a\u00a0period of\u00a0three-month full time or around 90 days, divided in several smaller work periods between February 2020 and December 2020.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The call is open for <em>all visual artists,\u00a0<\/em>for projects in various media and disciplines. Projects with interest in artistic labour, challenging the notion of a &#8216;workplace&#8217; or with a focus on experiment are preferable.\u00a0Crucial elements in the FLACC workplace projects are: theoretical research, input from experts, practical feasibility, and an output in relation with the studio labour, for example by contributing to the art discourse with a publication or a presentation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The selected artists\u00a0can make unlimited use of FLACC\u00a0extensive facilities (kiln, carpentry and metal workshops and digital studio) and receive full organizational and artistic support during the preparation and realization of that project. FLACC makes an appropriate budget available for each of these projects and offers accommodation, covers travel expenses\u00a0and\u00a0a small production budget.\u00a0FLACC providing practical, material and financial assistance through extended collaborations with artists, allows the selected artists to\u00a0count on an extensive level of long term support. They can fully concentrate on their projects, whose process-driven realisation, worked out in collaboration with FLACC, is often just as important as the physical result itself. FLACC suggests that this realization is sometimes even secondary to the deployment of activities which can aid the artistic development of the artist, such as theoretical deepening, experimentation and networking.
