Transmediale is a transversal, dynamic platform that facilitates regular publications and year-round activities including commissions and artist residencies. Transmediale creates a space for critical reflection on cultural transformation from a post-digital perspective. For the 2023 festival edition, Transmediale opens a  call for proposals engaged with the scale and capability of socio-technical systems. Are welcomed proposals that explore ways to inhabit, expose, rethink, subvert or queer the multi-scalar nature of our contemporary technological condition.

The festival will take place at Akademie der Künste Berlin (Hanseatenweg) during the first week of February. The call is open to multiple formats including: algorithms, artworks, bots, discussions, essays, events, experiments, films, lectures, online projects, panels, performances, sounds, walks, or workshops. Selected applications will receive an artist’s fee, travel, and accommodation during the festival.
